Prof Nalaka Jayakody

DSc, MSc, Master Mariner

Prof. Nalaka Jayakody has engaged in higher education sector in Sri Lanka for over two decades of time contributing to uplift quality education in various ways. He initiated his career in 1984 joining Maritime Training as a Deck Cadet. He obtained the first Certificate of Competency as Class II Second Officer from the Australian Maritime College (AMC) in Tasmania, Australia in 1989, and the Master Class I Certificate from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Australia in 1994; thereby, he rose to the rank of a Ship Captain. After 14 years’ experience at sea, Prof. Jayakodi diverged his profession to a shore-based career in 1998 when he joined CINEC Maritime Campus in Sri Lanka as a lecturer in the Department of Navigation. He obtained MSc degree in Maritime Education and Training in 2002 from the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmo, Sweden and earned Doctor of Science from the Dalian Maritime University, China in 2011. Prof. Nalaka Jayakody has served as Vice President of Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC), prior to joining Northshore International Campus.

Prof Sisuru Sendanayake

PhD, MSc, BSc Eng. (Hons)

Prof. Sisuru Sendanayake has more than 27 years of experience in the industry of Mechanical Engineering, also possessing experience of 10 years in the higher education sector. He has worked in the capacity of Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Operations Manager and Director (Engineering) in reputed private sector organizations in Sri Lanka for more than 17 years. He has positively contributed to many large-scale construction projects in Sri Lanka with regard to mechanical equipment supply and installations. He has delivered lectures at the Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Prof. Sendanayake has also served as the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Director of academic programmes and a member of several university senates and councils. He has been instrumental in establishing the first non-state sector Faculty of Engineering offering BSc Engineering (Honours) degrees. Bearing key positions, he pioneered and contributed to the development of the faculty in many ways. Knowledgeable in all aspects, he has been thoroughly involved in management and administration functions for more than 15 years.

Dr Dan Malika Gunasekara


Dr.Dan Malika Gunasekera initiated his career as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1996 and consequently obtained post qualification experience in Civil and Commercial Law pertaining to different spheres. He earned Master’s degree in International Law with ‘honours cum laude’ from University of Utrecht, Netherlands and Doctor of Philosophy in International Commercial Maritime Law also with ‘honours cum laude’ form the University of Hamburg, Germany in 2008. He is presently engaged in active practice as a Legal Counsel and operates through a self-owned entity, DANMA. He is a Moderator of the National Maritime and Logistics Policy under Ministry of Ports and Shipping, Sri Lanka, and a former Executive Director of Ceylon Shipping Corporation. Dr. Malika Gunasekera extends his contribution to academic field by bearing numerous academic positions. He has held Dean’s position of the Faculty of Management, Humanities and Social Sciences at CINEC Campus, Sri Lanka and has served as a lecturer and supervisor in LLB and LLM programmes of both local and international universities.

Dr Kishu Gomes


Kishu Gomas is an award winning Corporate Leader and a Marketing professional with over 3 decades of work experience with US multinationals in two huge global industries namely Beverage and Energy. He has gained foreign exposure through local and international projects and leadership roles. Kishu has made a significant economic and social contribution for country’s economic independence in many ways. He holds an MBA from the University of Leicester and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. He was appointed to an Expert Committee to formulate the country’s ‘National Sustainable Development Vision and Strategy – 2030’ by his Excellency the president of Sri-Lanka in 2017. Coca Cola, Chevron Lubricants Lanka, Caltex and AMCHAM are several of those that have experienced a significant growth benefitting largely from his remarkable knowledge, skills and experience. Kishu also contributes towards uplifting the quality of higher education as an Advisory Board Member for 3 private universities in Sri-Lanka namely, SLIIT Business Faculty, Colombo Business School and CINEC Campus.

Mr.Anuradha Wijekoon

Anuradha Wijekoon is a highly qualified Officer of Sri Lanka Administrative Service with more than 27 years of progressive career in different government organisations, adept at providing leadership and direction in continuously improving organizational performance. Being professionally qualified, he has performed well in the spheres of General Management, Public Administration and Sri Lanka Administrative Service. He has held important memberships in universities, councils, ministries and many other organisations some of which are Sir John Kotalawala Defense University, National Institute of Education, and Ministry of Telecommunication and digital Infrastructure. He has also been an All Island Justice of Peace for over 10 years. He has served in many government departments and ministries of Sri Lanka bearing key positions in them. Anuradha Wijekoon has played a significant role in the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources Management serving as Director General of Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka and has served as Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition of Parliament in 2015. He has attended numerous training programmes, meetings and payed visits locally and internationally consequently being professionally trained to become a consultant and trainer at several Departments and Authorities.

Prof Ajantha Dharmasiri

PhD., MBA, BSc Eng, C. Eng

Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri is the Director and the Chairman of the Board of Management of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He also serves as an adjunct professor in International Human Resource Management at the Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma, USA. He is the Immediate Past President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). He serves in the Boards of several organizational bodies including National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) and Softlogic PLC. He is a Commonwealth AMDISA Doctoral Fellow, Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow and holds a Ph.D. and an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. He has won several awards for both his academic and professional distinctions, and he holds important memberships of several professional bodies.  He also functions as a certified Peer Reviewer of the South Asian Quality System (SAQS) and an advisor to the Old Royalists’ HR Professional Association (ORHRPRA).

Dr Anil Samaranayake


Dr. Samaranayake is a Senior Medical Administrator and Director of Health Information at the Ministry of Health from April 2019 to present. Having initiated clinical practice in 1994, he serves as a Consultant Community Physician and International Certified Addiction Counsellor. He has engaged in Counselling and addiction counselling from 2004 with NDDCB and own Addiction Counselling from 2014. Dr. Samaranayake obtained his MBBS in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Master of Science degree in Community Medicine from the same university. Having earned his doctoral degree in Community Medicine from the University of Colombo, he got Post-Doctoral Fellowship of University of Melbourne, Australia in 2009. He has contributed to the academic sector by working as a visiting lecturer and an academic supervisor attached to University of Colombo. Having interests in other disciplines, Dr. Samaranayake has also obtained a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.

Dr Indika Segera

PhD, MSc, BSc.

Dr Indika Sigera obtained his Master of Science degree in Port Management from World Maritime University, affiliated University of International Maritime Organisation, Malmo, Sweden. He then earned his Doctoral degree from the Australian Maritime College, Launceston,Tasmania, Australia. He exhibits expertise in port management, shipping and logistics. Dr Sigera served as a Tanker Charterer and an Assistant Manager at Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Sri Lanka over eight years. He then developed his career in 2006 to become a senior lecture at the Department of Transport and Logistics Management of the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka where he was exposed to numerous opportunities to contribute to academic field in many ways. He has also rendered his leadership to implement Development of Vocational Education and Training Plan for Transportation and Logistics (Storage) Industry Sector launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development (2013-2014), and has chaired Education and Accreditation Sub-committee since 2012 and worked as Vice Chairman of Sri Lanka Association of Australia Award Alumni.
